Crews in D3 go overtime to reopen Highway 55 after slide
Idaho Highway 55, closed between Banks and Smiths Ferry by a mudslide since early April 16, reopened a day later in the afternoon following a massive cleanup effort by crews from all over D3, who converged on the road.

Jersey Barrier mover saves time and reduces risk
The maintenance crew in Caldwell is continually realigning jersey barriers hit by cars. The crew machined a hydraulic attachment for a plow truck that is much safer and faster than the old method.

D4 proposes discing roadway shoulders to save on materials
A proposed innovation from District 4 will help reduce the amount of shoulder material purchased by ITD. By utilizing a shoulder disc, the department's maintenance workers are able to retrieve material that is pushed to the side or lost over time.
