On April 30, the Idaho Transportation Department bridge inspection crew assisted the Boise Fire Department during a water rescue of their own firefighters on the Boise River.

ITD donates truck to West Ada Diesel Tech. program
ITD recently donated a 2012 GMC 3500 Sierra Crew Cab pickup with nearly 172,000 miles to the West Ada School District and their Diesel Technology program. The students and instructors at the school were thrilled.

District 1 revisits hazard-tree removals to save money
To enhance highway safety, crews in District 1 regularly remove hazardous trees from roadsides. A partnership with the Idaho Department of Lands provides an added incentive to contractors and saves money.

North Idaho boat-check stations reopen for the season
Boat-check stations across the state are now open, including one on Interstate 90 near Cedars, where inspectors found the greatest number of contaminated watercraft in 2018.

Deadly Decade
