ITD two-time finalist for Idaho Innovative Company of the Year
State agencies are not known for being hotbeds of innovation and culture…but maybe they should be. ITD was recently named a finalist in a statewide search for innovative companies, which marks the second time the department has made that exclusive group.

Aptly themed—Inspiring New Generations—some 200 ITD employees participated in an event-filled 2019 Leadership Summit Sept. 25 in Meridian. From the morning welcome and address by Governor Brad Little, to a full day highlighted by intriguing speakers, this year’s gathering took a fresh look at how we do business and how we can build upon those successes.

Lewiston intersection work improves traffic flow, reduces delays
The intersection of US-12, 21st Street, E Main Street, and G Street in Lewiston is one of the busiest in the entire region, with more than 50,000 vehicles per day using the intersection. It plays an important role in the community, so it required unique planning.

Community Outreach
Idaho Governor, DMV and transportation officials continue to raise awareness about Star Card
One year ahead of the federally-mandated deadline, the DMV continues to raise awareness of the importance of obtaining a Star Card, Idaho’s Real ID. Without a star on a driver’s license after Oct. 1, 2020, citizens won’t be able to board a plane or enter a federal facility.

Because the Idaho Transportation Department has a multi-faceted role in the state’s infrastructure, staff at the department work hard to be prepared for a variety of emergencies. These can include floods, fires, landslides, severe weather and accidents. Being prepared means understanding both emergency preparedness and emergency response.
