Avalanche crew brings French innovation to Idaho to improve winter operations in Canyon Creek

Pilot thanks D5 crew for highway taxi assist
The pilot of a plane that had to use Idaho Highway 34 as his own personal landing strip on Sept. 21 sent a recent thank you letter to some D5 employees. The crew closed the road to ensure the safety of the aircraft and the traveling public, and made sure the plane got back off the ground.

Headquarters Service Awards recognize 445 years
During the monthly Idaho Transportation Board in Boise on Oct. 17, 29 employees at Headquarters were recognized for a combined 445 years of service to the state. One employee even received a standing ovation.

Department Honors
ITD wins international awards for marketing & communication
The department’s Office of Communication (with help from others) recently won three international awards for marketing & communication efforts. The awareness campaign for the expansion of the "Move Over" law won a Platinum award, the first-ever video annual report won a Gold award, and the historical photo library was given Honorable Mention.
