Director Ness receives recognition from Carriers & Rigging group
The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association showed appreciation for the leadership role ITD Director Brian Ness has provided for the transportation industry by awarding him with a special embossed plaque. It was awarded, but not presented. Getting the plaque from the association’s headquarters in Virginia to Ness proved to be no easy task.

Surplussed Navy lathe to continue serving Idaho roads
In an effort to save space, the Lewiston shop recently surplussed a lathe that ITD had acquired in the 1960s from the Navy. It cost the county $25, but has a unique story.

D4 welcomes Brumfield as new Innovation Steward
Brent Brumfield, aka Map Guy, is known as the GIS specialist in District 4. He’s a familiar face to many in the region. Recently, Brumfield decided to take on yet another new challenge in the department, adding the title of Innovation Steward to his name.

Innovation Steward Profile: D6’s Dalton Rice
The new Innovation Steward in District 6, Dalton Rice, is the district’s Fleet Manager. Rice worked out of the Challis maintenance shed from 2011 until coming to the D6 main building in Rigby last July. He became an Innovation Steward in January.
