ITD’s Mark Hall takes a final curtain call this fall and retires after three decades of service
Mark Hall, longtime department photographer, will retire September 30 after almost 30 years with the department. Hall was ITD’s Clown Prince – a clown in department videos and skits; a prince of a man the rest of the time.

Disaster Response
Video of blast on US-95 slide south of Riggins shows progress
Traffic has been able to consistently flow past the US-95 slide south of Riggins since July 27, but work has continued since then to reopen the route fully without threat of another slide. Blasting to clear the slide are and break up massive boulders is another step toward reopening.

Got the Twine Blues? This may be the answer.
A lot of things end up on the side of roadways. Often times it’s trash, occasionally it’s treasure, and other times it’s twine. Yes, good ole’ baling twine. Perhaps second in usefulness only to duct tape, the string is used for many things, and unfortunately, it often ends up near the road.

Preparedness Month reminder that safety and readiness go hand-in-hand
Being prepared. Being safe. Being secure. These are all aspects of the culture ITD wants to create for employees working at headquarters and in the districts. This year, that frequently extends to home as well. September is preparedness month, so as we work toward the Safety Stand Down at the end of the month, it is a reminder that ensuring safety takes daily vigilance.

Idaho Transportation Board
Public comment on future projects and federal redistribution highlight upcoming board meeting
The upcoming meeting of the Idaho Transportation Board, slated for Wednesday, September 16, will feature a summary of public comments received on ITD's future project plans, a discussion of federal redistribution funds, and a report on returned checks per policy. The meeting will start at 10:30 a.m. to allow for travel time to ITD’s District 6 office in Rigby.
