ITD employees invited to consider CPM program

Ann Heilman, administrator of Idaho’s Department of Human Resources, announced that another series of classes will be offered this spring for state employees who wish to pursue a Certified Public Manager (CPM) professional path.

“We are accepting applications through Feb. 18. This new CPM track will begin their classes in April 2005,” she said.

The CPM Program is nationally accredited and designed to promote quality leadership within state government and to assist with succession planning. It provides instruction in a variety of topics developed to enhance and build management skills for agency leaders.

“Our Idaho curriculum and process also helps participants build a network of interagency relationships and the potential for shared problem-solving. It’s a great experience,” Heilman added.

Information on selection guidelines and application completion is available from ITD’s Human Resources Office and similar offices at other state departments.

District 4 employees share holiday spirit

District 4 employees demonstrated their generous natures by raising $1,817 for two local charities at this year’s Christmas potluck. Raffle prizes included a portable DVD player, a George Foreman Grill, various cash prizes and some terrific overnight stays. A two-day pack trip, provided by Trey Mink and Chuck Chapin, was auctioned off and raised $380 . Scott Malone was the lucky winner.

The Idaho Youth Ranch and Salvation Army will both receive $913.50. Other charitable acts this season included a teddy bear drive for the Idaho State Police and a canned food drive for the Salvation Army.

Thanks to everyone who their hearts, cupboards and wallets so others less fortunate could have a memorable Christmas.

ITD project mentioned in national online newsletter

The Idaho Driver’s Manual, which recently was expanded to include an audio version available online (see Transporter story), was recognized this week by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators.

A story about ITD’s innovative approach to expanding information access appeared in the Jan. 6 issue of the AAMVA online newsletter under “Member News.”
