Honoring
those
who
will
soon
become
veterans
By
U.S.
Sen.
Larry
Craig
In
years
past,
I
have
written
about
the
service
and
sacrifices
of
Idaho
veterans
who
have
served
in
the
wars
of
bygone
eras.
This
year,
I
would
like
to
talk
about
Idahoans
who
are
not
yet
veterans,
but
hopefully
will
be
soon.
They
are
our
brave
men
and
women
of
the
Idaho
National
Guard's
116th
Battalion.

How
will
election
affect
unsettled
transportation
issues?
Our
issues
of
transportation
and
mobility
are
wrapped
up
in
the
affairs
of
Congress.
The
Transportation
Equity
Act
for
the
21st
Century
(TEA-21)
is
overdue
for
its
renewal
and
probably
won't
again
be
considered
until
the
new
Congress
reconvenes
in
2005.
Also
overdue
are
the
renewal
of
Temporary
Assistance
for
Needy
Families
(TANF)
and
related
programs
of
the
1996
"welfare
reform"
legislation,
and
renewal
of
the
Workforce
Investment
Act
(WIA)
family
of
job
training
and
employment
programs.
