Wishes for wonderful Thanksgiving

Board recommends new revenue package
The Idaho Transportation Board recommends improving the state's highways and bridges by increasing transportation funding an additional $203 million annually. The transportation board will make the recommendation to the governor and Idaho Legislature next session... The investment plan is based on a report from the Forum on Transportation Investment.

Campaign emphasizes use of seat belts
Reducing unnecessary deaths and serious injuries on Idaho highways during the Thanksgiving holiday is the goal of an enhanced seat belt education and enforcement campaign that began Nov. 13 and continues through the end of the month. Law enforcement agencies statewide and ITD are participating in the campaign to keep more families safe while traveling the state’s highways this holiday season.

U.S. 95 traffic enjoys new split near Genesee
Motorists traveling on U.S. 95 began using a new alignment between Thorncreek Road and the Genesee-Juliaetta junction this week, marking the completion of the first of three major construction projects between Moscow and Lewiston. Cews finished painting temporary lane stripes on the 7.5-mile segment of U.S. 95 and split northbound and southbound traffic on Tuesday.
