ITD praised in Governor’s State of the State, Agency Spotlight
Getting from Point A to Point B – transportation – is central to all on a daily basis. With that knowledge as the backdrop, Governor Otter announced that finding additional revenue to maintain our roads and bridges and build needed new infrastructure as the state grows should be of primary concern for lawmakers in the upcoming session.

Facebook partners to make AMBER Alerts more visible
From Idaho State Police Tuesday, Jan. 13: MERIDIAN - Today, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children announced a partnership with Facebook to send AMBER Alerts to the social network's community to help find missing children.

Last year was active avalanche-threat season on U.S. 12; ITD’s avalanche forecasters again ready
Last year was the most active avalanche-threat season in decades on U.S. 12 through north-central Idaho. The highway may be subjected to avalanches again this winter. But regardless of what Mother Nature brings, ITD and the Avalanche Forecast Team will be ready.

Highway Safety
Encore (01-09-15) State fatality rates continue sharp decline despite significantly increased volumes
For the third time in the last four years, Idaho achieved a measure of roadway safety the state could not reach for the better part of 60 years. While there is still significant work to be done, this shows a trend in the right direction.
