ITD North Idaho regional crews record state-best mobility index, benefitting drivers
ITD maintenance crews in the north Idaho region posted the top mobility index for the entire state for area roads. During the recent winter season, crews posted a mobility index of 82 percent - the percent of time during slick and dangerous winter-driving conditions crews kept road surfaces bare and passable for the traveling public.

New study reveals when, where and how much motorists drive
WASHINGTON, D.C., (April 16, 2015) – On average, Americans drive 29.2 miles per day, making two trips with an average total duration of 46 minutes. This and other revealing data are the result of a ground-breaking study currently underway by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety and the Urban Institute.

100 Deadliest Days especially dangerous for teen drivers
Memorial Day kicks off the summer months, usually bringing a great anticipation of what the lazy summer days ahead will hold. However, Memorial Day also kicks off what is known as “The 100 Deadliest Days of Summer” – referring to the number of fatal crashes that happen on Idaho’s roadways. The days between the Memorial and Labor Day holiday weekends claim the highest numbers of fatal automobile, crashes, especially when it comes to teen drivers.
