The Idaho Transportation Board will travel to southeast Idaho May 18-19 for a tour of the transportation department’s District 5 on Wednesday and a business meeting on Thursday at Idaho State University’s Pond Student Union.

Sterbentz creates GIS App to aid ITD, public at large
Nik Sterbentz, the GIS Analyst in District 5, has created an app that allows project planners to use basic information from older projects and add current layers to it to come up with a general picture of the current area before ever heading out the door to do any on-site planning.

Icon volunteers pay it forward to ITD's Broadway Bridge workers

ACE Academy offers teenagers chance to learn about careers in aviation
Navigating small airplanes, controlling air traffic and exploring Blackhawk helicopters are all part of the Aviation Career Exploration (ACE) Academy, June 13-15, hosted by the Idaho Transportation Department’s Division of Aeronautics in Boise.

District 2 Potlatch team assists in emergency readiness drills for car crash
Several members of the D2 maintenance team in Potlatch volunteered in emergency preparation drills May 13 for the students at Potlatch High School. Approximately 200 students attending the Junior-Senior High School witnessed the emergency scenario.

ITD annual equipment roadeos kick off May 18
Riggins played host to the first rodeo of the season last weekend. ITD will begin an event of a different sort in mid-May, as the annual district-by-district roadeo events will take place between May 18-June 9, with Pocatello hosting the first event at their main complex next Wednesday.

Encore (05-06-16): ITD offers construction consultants, contractors new business tool
New technology will help make it easier for construction consultants and contractors to do business with the Idaho Transportation Department. The new “Customer Service Gateway” program allows more direct access to the AASHTOWare Project SiteManager software program used to manage the department’s construction activities statewide.

Encore (05-06-16): ITD earns record-breaking 13 Idaho Press Club awards
Staff members from ITD’s Office of Communication (and Governmental Affairs) won a record-breaking 13 Idaho Press Club awards at the annual competition. The awards were handed out April 30 in Boise.
