ITD engineers find $700,000 savings, traffic efficiencies in replacement of Owsley Canal bridge in eastern Idaho
In a tight budget environment where every dollar counts, Idaho Transportation Department engineers again found a way to safely stretch resources and still perform a needed replacement of an old bridge in the small, eastern Idaho town of Mud Lake. The project review also will reduce traffic impact during the four-month-long project starting next fall after water leaves the canal.

The Treasure Valley Chapter of Women in Transportation Seminars (WTS) is seeking outstanding projects, employers and individuals statewide to honor through their Annual Recognition Awards. Any person, company or organization in Idaho can submit nominations through Jan. 5, 2017.

Signal upgrades, optimization throughout Twin Falls begins
Traffic signals throughout Twin Falls are being improved and upgraded in a project now underway. All signals (more than 30 of them) impacted by the project are on U.S. and Idaho highway routes. The upgrades will bring these signals to current standards and optimize the efficient flow of traffic.

Drivers can expect heavy construction along I-15 starting next spring
The Idaho Transportation is preparing motorists for extensive construction on much of Interstate 15 within Idaho starting in the spring of 2017. This will create temporary traffic changes, but the result will be improved road surfaces and bridge supports.
