District 1
D1, partners install fiber optics to improve connectivity of assets
This past construction season, District 1 worked with Syringa Networks and Fatbeam LLC to install 56 miles of fiber optics along Interstate 90 and state highways, allowing for the future connection of signals, interchanges, cameras, traffic counters, dynamic messaging signs and maintenance sheds.

Desktop application sprawl revealed as rules and roles addressed
ITD has approximately 1,550 staff and another 100 contractors who work at the department, using department-issued equipment, including PCs, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones. That many technology endpoints can be problematic.
