Meyer to improve ITD, continuously
Laura Meyer became the department's next Continuous Improvement Facilitator March 13, replacing Ashley Orme, who moved on to a teaching position with Boise State University in mid-February. Meyer previously worked in ITD's Training and Development section as a trainer since 2012.

ITD, Crider honored as longtime WTS partners at recent gala
Contracting Services Engineer Monica Crider, P.E., and the Idaho Transportation Department were each honored for sustained involvement and advocacy of the Women in Transportation Seminars (WTS) group at the organization’s annual SW Idaho chapter awards event Feb. 22.

If you’ve worked here long enough, you realize that ITD is a big, quirky family. In any family, there are weird characters, a collection of introverts and extroverts, some analytical types and some who are ruled by emotion, some who are reserved and some who are out there. But a unifying hallmark is that family members care about each other. It’s not always easy, but it is a common thread.

ITD efforts help salmon return to Lochsa
The D2 crew along the Lochsa River continues to clear out routes, such as Elk Summit Road near Powell, critical to the management of fish populations in the area.

Department Expertise
Chinese visit ITD Lab Feb. 27 to see ITD asphalt practices
A small delegation from China visited the ITD Headquarters' Lab in the Annex on the morning of Feb. 27 to tour the lab. The group was most interested in U.S. pavement-preservation practices, modified asphalt, emulsified asphalt, warm-mix asphalt, and the use of Recycled Asphalt Pavement.
