D1 Bridge Crew recognized as Maintenance Crew of the Year
North Idaho may be the smallest ITD district in terms of square miles, but it ranks highest in square feet of bridge decks. The three-man team responsible for their upkeep was recognized at the board meeting last week as the 2018 Maintenance Crew of the Year.

Equipment Operators Training unit named Safety Team of the Year
The Equipment Operators Training Program (EOTP), generated as a Tiger Team and featured at the 2018 Leadership Summit, was honored as the Safety Team of the Year Oct. 17 at the board meeting. The EOTP is spearheaded on a day-to-day basis by Mike Stowell and Chris Cunningham.

For years, Shoshone East Foreman Carl Horn has struggled with a transportation issue. Not a transportation issue in the general sense of the term, but a literal transport problem that has caused many crews throughout the state substantial grief.

ITD sets the innovation bar high with second finals appearance
ITD again set the standard for state agencies with a second appearance Oct. 23 in the Idaho Technology Council Innovative Company of the Year awards. ITD remains the only public-service state agency to make the final grouping. Not just once, but twice — 2016 & 2019.

Star Card media tour generates awareness about federal ID deadline requirements across Idaho
Two weeks, the seven biggest Idaho counties and countless media interviews later, Star Card awareness was heightened across the state thanks to a joint media campaign with the DMV and sheriff’s offices. The tour was scheduled exactly one year ahead of the nationwide deadline.
