A visual safety campaign highlighting safety for trick-or-treaters last fall won the Idaho Advertising Federation’s Silver and Gold Rockie awards recently in the Guerrilla Marketing category. Now it goes up against 40,000 entries at the national level.

Ridgevue high school in Nampa wins national seat-belt competition
The Ridgevue Warhawks are known around the Treasure Valley for their passion for seat belts. Now their efforts have landed them in the national spotlight. This year a team of students won the National Organizations for Youth Safety's Seat Belts Save Challenge.

ITD Office of Communication earns numerous Idaho Press Club awards
ITD’s communication professionals picked up a handful of Idaho Press Club awards over the weekend, as the winners were recognized online Saturday afternoon. It marked the first time in at least 30 years that no in-person banquet was held to announce the winners. The awards mark the best in journalism from across the state.

Training & Development moves to virtual realm
David Nichols officially took over his new role as the Training and Development manager for ITD March 9. One week later, Governor Brad Little issued a statewide stay-at-home order, and the department has been navigating uncharted waters ever since. The need to continue offering effective training opportunities, while adhering to COVID-19 guidelines, is a challenge the team has met head-on.
