Crews complete time-saving slide of new I-84 bridge into place at Blacks Creek Interchange
Normally, no engineer wants to see bridges moving, but this weekend was different. Crews slid the first of two new bridges at the Blacks Creek Interchange with Interstate 84 sixty feet into place — where it will thankfully remain stationary for decades to come.

Airport work in Smiths Prairie highlights collaboration and helps area ravaged by recent wildfires
In May, a small crew from ITD’s District 3 and the Division of Aeronautics came together to improve the small backcountry airstrip in Smith’s Prairie. After being ravaged by multiple wildfires in the last decade, the airport got a well-deserved facelift, courtesy of Ben Forsberg, a TTO in the Hammett maintenance shed.

Community Involvement
Office of Communication spearheads 44% increase in FY20 outreach
ITD’s Office of Communication (OC) helped create a 44% increase in outreach in FY20 compared to the year prior, from 3.39M impressions/views to 4.89M. The increase was primarily accomplished by targeted public-information and awareness campaigns that utilized various outreach platforms and communication channels.
