Board supports creation of aeronautics investment forum
Meeting the needs of Idaho’s air transportation and the increased funding demands are becoming a major challenge, according to Rodger Sorensen, chair of the Aeronautics Advisory Board (AAB). In a presentation to the Idaho Transportation Board Thursday, Sorensen said the aeronautics challenges will continue to escalate, placing demands on financing the system.

Moore committed to putting research into practice
Information is the key to understanding the past and the power to influence the future. And while information is available in abundance, when access is stifled its value is diminished. Matt Moore’s new challenge is to open the storehouse of research and make information widely available to his ITD colleagues for improving Idaho’s transportation system. Moore became the department’s first full-time research manager on Dec. 31.

These qualities also allowed us to survive a recent recession with significantly less disruption than most states.

Federal transportation budget gets mixed review
The Administration’s proposals funding highway and transit programs are a step toward assisting Congress in advancing the long-delayed reauthorization legislation, said Commissioner Jack Lettiere, President of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, and Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
