Transition
Management
Plan
that
will
guide

future
of
the
department’s
technology

week
and
is

for

on
the

Fremont
claims
top
state
honors
It
may

unusual

District
6s
Dale
Fremont
wearing
a
hard
hat,
or
cowboy
hat
for

matter.

being
named
reigning
champion
of
the
ITD
Roadeo
circuit,
you
may
find
him
sporting
a
crown.
Fremont
outscored
23
other
drivers
from
across
the
state
to
win
the
annual
State
Equipment
Roadeo,
held
last
week
in
Island
Park.

Maintenance
crews
started
the
summer
by
joining
the
ITD
roadeo
circuit,
putting
their
driving
skills
to
the
test
in
friendly
competition.

drivers

maneuver

front
loader

balls,
stop
a
plow
within
inches
of
a
marker
or
avoid
obstacles
while
driving
a
truck
in
reverse.

Heather
Ogden,
23,
found
herself
in
a
strangely
familiar
place
recently
strange
because
not
many
women
venture
there,
and
familiar
because
she
was
quite
confident
and
comfortable.

place

competition
with
an
overwhelmingly
male-dominate
transportation
department
truck
Roadeo
competition
where
she
captured
second
place.

Special
patrols designed to keep highways safe
over holiday
Along with increased travel predicted
on highways during the July 4th weekend,
law enforcement will increase patrols
aimed at taking drunk drivers off Idaho
roads.
Today
through Monday (July 2-5), law enforcement
officials statewide will conduct saturation
patrols to crack down on offenders as
part of the You Drink, You Drive,
You Lose campaign.

Idaho
receives federal grant for safety projects
Idaho will
receive approximately $300,000 for safety
improvement projects, the U.S. Department
of Transportation announced last week.
The federal discretionary funds were
part of the U.S. DOTs six-year
authorization, known as Transportation
Equity Act for the 21st Century.

Detmar
to
embark
on
new
adventure
Moe
Detmar,
who
has
managed
the
Division
of
Motor
Vehicles
the
past
nine
years,
will
formally
begin
the
new
adventure
in
mid-August
upon
retirement.
Informally,
with
accrued
leave,
he
will
vacate
the
office
and,
for
practical
purposes,
conclude
his
distinguished
career
Friday
(July
2).
