Fuel spilll disrupts traffic on Idaho 55
Idaho 55, one of the state's primary north-south routes from Boise was closed for 15 hours Wednesday after a tank containing jet fuel overturned about two miles north of Gardena. ITD crews worked quickly to contain 2,000 gallons of fuel that spilled from the punctured tanker, and prevent the highly flammable liquid from reaching the scenic Payette River

Most ITD employees will receive one-time check
ITD employees who meet eligibility criteria should receive an additional check late this month as a result of action taken by the 2004 Legislature. As part of a salary increase package, legislators approved an additional, one-time lump-sum payment equivalent to 1 percent of employees’ annual salary.

Brochure reminds teens about high cost of drinking while driving
A brochure published this month by ITD’s Office of Traffic and Highway Safety (OTHS) will head to school this fall as a suggested reading assignment for teenage drivers. The brochure, “Are You Under 21? Find Out How to Keep Your License,” is intended to remind teens about the risks they take if they are caught drinking and driving.

Pilots to converge in McCall Aug. 13-15
The 18th annual Northwest Mountain Family Fly-In, scheduled for Aug. 13-15 in McCall, is designed to attract families, aviation enthusiasts and pilots. Sponsored by the Idaho Transportation Department’s (ITD) Division of Aeronautics, the weekend event features a range of activities that appeal to pilots and non-pilots alike.
