Resource guide for hazardous materials mishaps
Federal officials say the general public should first call 911 if they witness a hazardous material (hazmat) emergency such as a transportation crash involving vehicles carrying hazmats. If it is possible without putting oneself in danger, report the size and markings of the vehicle, specifically the color of the placards and identification number.

Many look as if they had packed for a week-long hike in the wilderness – bulging backpacks, lunch bags and water bottles, jackets and tennis shoes…Their footsteps or their bicycle rides lead not to recreation, but school. Journeys that are presumed to be safe are fraught with hazards when wandering minds and commuting traffic merge.

ITD’s administrative assistants will embark “On the Road to a Bright Horizon” when they assemble for the annual workshop Sept. 8 in Boise. The day-long workshop includes seminars and presentations that provide continuing education and networking opportunities to employees from throughout the state.

Open enrollment approaches for optional life insurance
ITD employees who choose to participate in a supplemental life insurance plan through the state’s provider will have an opportunity to add additional coverage during the NCPERS open enrollment period, Sept. 1-Nov. 30.
