Toward
Zero Deaths on Idaho's highways
The loss of a single life in a traffic crash on
Idaho’s highways is not acceptable. Preventing
fatal crashes is the primary focus of a three-day
conference Wednesday through Friday in Boise.
ITD joins more than a half-dozen other sponsors
in presenting the “Governor's Highway Safety
Summit: Toward Zero Deaths.”

State
employees begin 2005 Charitable Giving campaign
Disasters
don’t keep schedules. They don’t respect
geographic boundaries. They don’t care about
budgets. And they cannot be solved with sympathy
alone. Whether it’s hurricanes in the Gulf
Coast, flooding in New England, tropical storms
in Central America or an earthquake in Pakistan,
generosity of the more fortunate is needed to help
victims rebuild their lives.

New
locating transmitter installed near Driggs
Lewis
and Clark wouldn’t have needed a compass
or sextant had they been crossing the Bitterroot
Mountains today. They could have taken advantage
of a location transmitter recently installed
in ITD’s District 6 to find their
way to the Pacific. A new receiver, located
at the Driggs maintenance yard, was powered
up without much fanfare recently. But its
impact will be far reaching.

DOROLCO
holiday craft sale scheduled Friday
A group of ITD employees will display their
hidden talents Friday when DOROLCO presents
its annual holiday craft fair in the Headquarters
Lobby. Homemade hobbies, crafts and baked

Ten percent of the proceeds will be given
to the Idaho Food Bank to support its food
distribution program. Sales historically
generate $300-400 for the organization.
Food collection barrels also will be located
in the Lobby. Employees are asked to deposit
non-perishable items for donation to the
