About
The U.S. 20/26 Corridor is one of the few east-west commuter routes that connect Caldwell to Boise. It is currently a two-lane, suburban and rural roadway between Boise and Caldwell. As the land around the roadway develops, U.S. 20/26 is becoming a busy urban corridor in many locations.
The Idaho Transportation Department is studying U.S. 20/26
between I-84 in Caldwell and Eagle Road in Boise. The study
will help ITD identify roadway improvements and determine
the need for future right-of-way along this busy corridor. The
study includes:
A corridor plan and concept report with recommended
improvements and right-of-way needs between now and
2040.
An environmental assessment showing how the
improvements would affect noise, air quality, cultural and
historic resources and other environmental factors.
A phasing plan to help ITD select individual projects as
funding allows and as priorities are identified.
