1,000th idea submitted to ITD innovation program
A customer-service improvement idea from DMV to process title lien notifications was the 1,000th idea submitted into the ‘Innovate ITD!’ idea funnel. Number 1,000 was submitted May 15 by Barry Takeuchi, Chris Fisher, Jeanne Purcell, and Jeff Oien.

Public Transportation
Public Transportation Summit in late July provides opportunity to assess challenges, shape future direction
Help with public transit funding is coming in late July through the Public Transportation Summit hosted by the Idaho Transportation Department in Boise July 25-27. The summit will specifically be geared toward agencies looking to qualify for grant funds from the ITD Public Transportation Office.

D4 Employee appreciation lunch celebrates successes of the year
District 4 employees enjoyed a sunny and warm day while the managers took time to show their appreciation with lunch for everyone. About 90 employees gathered at Shoshone City Park on May 23 while District Engineer Devin Rigby and six managers grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and provided lunch.

Eclipse, airstrips, byway highlight May meeting of Idaho Transportation Board
Extending the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway by 40 miles, a discussion of four backcountry airstrips in the Frank Church Wilderness, and concerns about aggressive driving during the upcoming August eclipse, were highlights of the monthly meeting of the Idaho Transportation Board in Pocatello May 17-18.

The main culprit was not an unwillingness, but rather just not knowing how. So to remove that barrier, innovation stewards were added in each district to facilitate the flow of ideas.
