Shoshone East Mtce Crew experiments with post puller
Motorists and snow plow drivers alike rely on delineators to give guidance as to where road shoulders end. This is particularly crucial in winter months when roadways are covered in snow. Although it feels like spring in many parts of the state, defining roadway shoulders is still a needed service.

Employee Profile: Joel Holverson, Inkom Port of Entry Inspector
Joel Holverson, a Port of Entry Inspector at the Inkom Port of Entry in District 5, was born in Pocatello and lived there all his life. Prior to joining ITD, Joel worked as an armored guard, transporting money to banks and servicing ATMs.

New signal feature at Eagle and Ustick designed to improve safety
There’s a new safety feature on two signals along busy Eagle Road in Boise that’s sure to grab your attention: LED signs that light up to display a “no right turn” message.

ITD turns popular lakeside road in CDA over to locals
Last week, the ITD board approved an agreement to transfer Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive to local jurisdictions, improving service for its users and resolving an operations issue that has persisted for years.

Driver's license renewal notices will soon be taking the form of a postcard and feature information about how to get the Star Card ­– Idaho's REAL ID.

Computer upgrades start in August
With Windows 7 reaching the end of its life later this year, this fall the department will begin upgrading all 2,700 PCs to Windows 10 and Office 2016. The Windows 10/Office 2016 migration will begin in August 2018, and will roll out over the following 12 months.

Employee Commute
Construction at State Street/36th Street Veterans Memorial Parkway Intersection
The Ada County Highway District is rebuilding the intersection of State Street, Veterans Memorial Parkway and 36th Street just west of the ITD Headquarters complex in Boise. Construction is expected to be complete this fall.
