ITD uses media to remind drivers to be careful in work zones
Every spring, with road-construction season approaching, ITD reminds motorists to drive carefully through work zones -- for their own safety and the safety of construction workers. During National Work Zone Awareness Week, the department held media events at different locations throughout the state to help spread the safety message.

Lochsa Revival
In early 2018, ITD engineers reached out to the public to discuss a major undertaking for US-12: two bridge replacements and 50 miles of paving. This revival of the Lochsa corridor featured significant work and miles of orange barrels for the first time since 2000.

Pre-wet modification saves thousands
Pre-wetting solid salt with liquid salt brine before dropping it onto the road helps the application stick and be more effective. It’s one way ITD optimizes snowfighting efforts.

Idaho Transportation Board
April board meeting will focus on youthful drivers, public transportation funding, and US-12 tour
The Idaho Transportation Board meeting in Lewiston next week will feature a visit to the Highway Safety Summit, a review of public transportation projects providing funding for local providers, and a tour of the US-12 corridor.

Stanton Crossing Safety
About two miles west of the Timmerman junction, the Stanton Crossing project reconstructed and widened the 62-year-old bridge, reconstructed the adjacent roadway, and improved highway access for the Stanton Crossing campground.
