Rindlisbacher named ITD Chief Engineer
Blake Rindlisbacher, longtime ITD employee, has become ITD’s new Chief Engineer. In addition to his Chief Engineer duties, Blake will continue to lead the Highways’ HQ Division. indlisbacher began his ITD career in Idaho Falls as an hourly employee in the summer of 1989.

Devin Rigby steps aside in District 4 on June 17
Devin Rigby, who has been a mainstay as ITD's D4 District Engineer for more than two decades, and has 33 years with the department in total, will no longer be in the office after June 17. In his tenure, he has accumulated more than his share of memories and humorous stories, which he shares with us as his departure looms.

District 2
Frame was a Friend of the Lochsa Traveler
ITD's maintenance workers routinely go above and beyond. Ron Frame worked for ITD’s District 2 office in Highways from 1986 until retiring in 2002. Frame, now 75, lives on the outskirts of St. Maries. He was the leadworker for many years in the Powell shed. In that time, Frame patrolled the Lochsa River corridor frequently, and was often the best friend of many travelers in dire need.

Preston and Blackfoot Maintenance sheds dominate District 5 Equipment Roadeo as Beckstead makes another run at state
Nearly 30 competitors took part in the District 5 truck roadeo June 4 in the Pocatello yard, with Matt Beckstead and Jed Gregerson from the Preston maintenance shed finishing in the first two slots.  Jared Loosli and Brandon Steffens, both from the Blackfoot shed, finished in third and fourth place.

Employees
Employee compensation raised for eighth straight year
For the eighth year in a row, ITD employees will see another boost in their paycheck, reflective of their great work. This year’s raises fell in line with Gov. Brad Little’s recommendation and followed the action of the 2019 Idaho Legislature. Eligible employees will receive a merit-based raise and an additional pay increase of $550 per year.

Hayden student sends letter of appreciation to ITD
One second-grade class at Atlas Elementary School in Hayden took it upon themselves to send letters of appreciation to their favorite businesses in the community. That included Sawyer, the son of ITD mechanic Doug Combs in District 1

POE roving incident in Idaho Falls features crash response and shifty pig wrangling
Wrangling pigs and responding to crashes. An unlikely combo, but on May 21 near Idaho Falls, that’s exactly how the day played out for Idaho Falls Roving Port of Entry inspectors Devin Weaver and David Nickel.

District 5
District 5 recognizes 285 years of combined service
On May 22, District 5 celebrated a combined 265 years of service accumulated by 14 employees at their Spring 2019 service awards. As many districts do annually, the service awards were celebrated as part of their employee appreciation events in May.
