Sometimes the greatest personal growth results when a primary objective is not attained. Hitting a bullseye on your secondary target can bring the best long-term and lasting victory. If you aim high and barely miss the mark, it is much better than aiming low and hitting that target.

Community Involvement
HQ Contracting Services issues Holiday Food Basket challenge
The Contracting Services group at ITD Headquarters recently put together a holiday food basket for the Idaho FoodBank and issued a challenge to other HQ sections to do likewise. The response has shown that ITD is not only a competitive bunch, but also responsive to the needs of the less fortunate.

Sprague’s training props extend beyond district, state
Earlier this year District 6 Training Specialist Josh Sprague introduced an innovation to improve the training that ITD provided to flaggers. The utilization of props to help simulate and develop traffic-control scenarios and appropriate responses really took off.

Federal Lands, Excellence winners, outdoor signs and long-range plans highlight next week’s board meeting
Access to federal lands, winners of the 2019 Excellence in Transportation Awards, review of nearly 1,200 outdoor signs statewide, and a long-range transportation forecast will be featured at the Dec. 12 Idaho Transportation Board meeting in Boise.
