Fallen Worker decals for ITD equipment represent next step of recognition and remembrance
ITD recently took another step toward greater statewide recognition of department workers who died on the job with a new decal to be distributed to each district and division. The decals can be stuck to the back of construction hard hats and to the bumper and side door panels of ITD vehicles and equipment as a visual reminder of the sacrifices made by those who walked these paths before us.

ITD blood drives save estimated 16,200 lives since Whitney took the reins
The Idaho Transportation Department’s blood drives in Boise accounted for 162 units of blood in 2019, which equates to 486 lives that can be saved by those donations. During the 30+ years Trish Whitney has coordinated the effort at HQ, ITD blood donations have accounted for 16,200 lives saved.

Lakey named new D3 District Engineer
Caleb Lakey is the new D3 District Engineer, replacing Amy Revis, who is retiring after more than six years at the helm for D3 and 37 years spent in transportation, including three decades at Washington State DOT. Lakey’s official start date will be February 9.

Innovation Steward Profile: DMV's Savannah Hill
Savannah Hill is the DMV’s new Innovation Steward. She replaces Beth Thompson, who resigned the steward position recently to concentrate on her new position as the Driver Records Supervisor. Hill was selected by DMV managers as the division's new Innovation Steward after nominations were submitted by employees and their supervisors.

Construction DWRs made easy
Tina Irwin, Roman Lara and Ben Daley of D1 spent the summer in the Couer d'Alene area piloting an AASHTOWARE program designed to make inspection both easy and mobile, and now they want to share it with other districts.
