for District 2
The Idaho Transportation Board begins
a series of district tours next week with a visit
to District 2, April 18-19, where they will review
projects and hold their monthly business meeting.

challenge takes a long hike
ITD employees will have an opportunity to hike through
Idaho during the next 10 weeks without wandering
far from home – all in the name of improved
fitness and better health This year’s fitness
challenge “Centennial Trail: Hike thru Idaho”
challenge begins Sunday (April 15) and continues
through June 23.

Whale-of-an-idea benefits young car passengers
In the event of a crash, the smallest and youngest
passengers may need extra help communicating vital
information to emergency personnel – information
particularly important if accompanying adult guardians
are injured or killed. A simple WHALE sticker affixed
to a vehicle window can guide firefighters, police
and paramedics to information mounted on the back
of a child’s car seat giving the child’s
name, medical condition and ways to contact next-of-kin
and doctor.

employees try to revive heart attack victim
Two ITD employees worked valiantly to revive a 62-year-old
man stricken by a heart attack while driving through
a work zone Monday. Despite the efforts of John
Richmond and Ken Puderbaugh, the Bozeman man was
pronounced dead where his vehicle left the road
near milepost 96, about one mile west of Lowell.
