2018 Roadeo: 9th time is a charm for D2's Winther
Participants in the state roadeo gathered just above the Dworshak Dam in Orofino June 19 to demonstrate their skills in a bid to advance to nationals. Ty Winther (D2) and Trent Maupin (D6) will advance, with Dalton Rice (D6) serving as an alternate.

ITD ramps up safety along Gem Trail
Continued development of the Gem Trail from Elk City to Avery led to recent collaboration between partners in north-central Idaho. This ATV path for off-highway vehicles will stretch about 240 miles, connecting rural towns and improving available recreational opportunities.

The first thing you notice is her iron grip, which is not uncommon for people that grew up in the country working cattle and livestock. Her ability to crush all the bones in your hand that quickly, though, it is a bit surprising. It is not the last surprise from Megan Stark.

A core sample needs to be transported from the job site to each district's lab several times a month during the slow season, and at least once a week during peak season. District 5 personnel noticed a lot of unwanted movement. So out came the welders.

ITD earns Gold Award for May In Motion
The Idaho Transportation Department recently won a Gold Award for its participation in May in Motion, an annual campaign that encourages employees to get active in bicycling, walking, or sharing rides to work. ITD had 14% employee participation during the campaign.
