The maintenance crew from Stanley in District 4 is now using a collapsible barricade, with modifications to the typical barrier to improve the ease of transport and the safety of our workers. The key is a well-placed Kotter Pin.

Highways HCPs discussed
The majority of ITD's workforce resides in the Division of Highways, and about 60% of them participate in one of the division's four career paths. A number of changes or modifications to the Horizontal Career Path program for these employees arrived with the new Fiscal Year July 1.

ITD child safety video featuring Tuttle's granddaughter wins AAMVA award
ITD’s child-safety seat video, filmed by long-time department videographer Dave Tuttle and featuring his seven-year-old granddaughter, Sierra, won an Public Affairs and Consumer Education award from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators July 17.

Snowplow lighting innovation allows better visibility, less glare
Although there’s no snow on the ground right now, it will be back before you know it. A safety innovation was submitted this spring, when the fight with the elements was an everyday occurrence. The innovation reduces glare from the plow, which is a safety enhancement for the public as they negotiate around the plow, and for our drivers.
